Compensation and Accidents
To ensure the safety of our passengers, ATM has insurance and compensation for damages policies covering people and/or objects involved in events for which the company can be considered responsible. These insurance policies cover both buses, for which insurance is mandatory, and rail transport, for which there is no such legal obligation. To protect company property, all company buildings, equipment, facilities and workshops are covered by an “All Risks” policy.
ATM manages all disputes directly, settling them directly or passing a small portion onto the relevant insurance companies after undertaking a preliminary investigation. For our customers, this offers the benefit of being able to contact ATM’s Legal Office directly in all cases.

Parking Offences
ATM S.p.A is not authorized to intervene in procedures regarding parking fines. However, you may appeal against any parking fines you incur only after having received the official documentation by sending it to the Prefect of Milan or a Justice of the Peace. The relevant forms can be obtained from the Local Police in Milan.
Any fines or reports of offences issued by ATM’s Traffic Wardens and Parking Attendants are sent to the Local Police who will then issue the relevant official documentation. Fines can be paid at Post Offices using the form provided, at authorized lottery outlets or at the Payment Offices at Local Police stations. If the fine incurred entails the deduction of points from your driving licence, no payment form is attached since payment can be made only after receiving official documentation by post. Alternatively, you may go to a Local Police Specialist Operations Unit with your car logbook and driving licence. After receiving the official documentation in person you may pay the relevant fine at post offices, authorized lottery outlets or the Payment Offices at Local Police stations.
