Planned works on M2 line: no service Centrale-Piola after 9pm from Oct. 7

After tracks and electrical upgrades in several sections of the line, in the next coming months M2 will undergo infrastructure works in the tunnels.

Metro line 2 closes between Centrale and Piola, in all directions, from October 7 to December 20 after 9pm, every day – See alternatives

To travel between Centrale and Piola

After 9pm, M2 trains are replaced by bus routes 90 and 91. See below the stop locations.

Centrale: piazza Luigi di Savoia - map
Caiazzo: via Pergolesi, corner piazza Caiazzo - map
Loreto: via Stradivari, corner piazza Argentina - map
Piola: viale Gran Sasso, corner piazzale Piola - map

To travel between Piola and Lambrate

After 9pm Lambrate and Piola stations are served by a train that runs back and forth on the same track. When you arrive at Lambrate, please take the train on the other platform to continue your journey towards Piola or towards Gessate/Cologno.

To change line

After 9pm, M2 Loreto station is closed. Please consider Cadorna station to change between M1 and M2 lines.
Bus 56/ runs between Crescenzago M2 and Loreto M1.
Bus 81 between Centrale (Piazza Duca d'Aosta) and Lambrate (Piazza Bottini), and stops at Lima M1.
You can always change between M2 and M3 lines at Centrale, even after 9pm.

Between Loreto, Udine and Lambrate stations use line 55

The 55 bus operates even in the evening after 9 PM, with stops at Via Doria (near Piazzale Loreto and the M1 metro station), via Pecchio/viale Abruzzi, piazza Aspromonte, via Porpora/via Lulli, via Lulli/via Costa, piazza Durante, via Teodosio/via Casoretto, largo Gemito e via Pordenone (piazzale Udine), via Feltre, via Pisani Dossi, via Rombon, piazza Bottini (near Lambrate Station). Between Crescenzago and Loreto stations use bus route 56/

Bus 56/ terminates at Crescenzago M2 and in viale Andrea Doria, behind piazzale Loreto.

Between Centrale and Lambrate stations use route 81

If you need to travel between Centrale and Lambrate stations, you can also use bus route 81 for a direct journey, with no changes.
