Travel passes give you the freedom to travel without time limits. It is loaded onto the electronic card (request it online), purchased on the ATM app and activated by approaching the card at the totems in the metro (on this page you will find other ways to subscribe). Below you will find all the available subscriptions and discounts, both for travelling in Milan and for travelling in the municipalities where the Integrated Fare System applies.
Urban passes, for travelling only in Milan
All urban subscriptions (monthly, annual, discounted) are valid for travelling within the boundaries of the Municipality of Milan and not beyond. You can travel on the urban network of ATM and on the city sections of Trenord and S lines services.
In this map you can find the limits not to exceed when travelling by metro with an urban pass. For occasional trips outside the boundaries of Milan, an extra cost must be added to the urban subscription. Here you can find the fares.
::: Ordinary urban subscriptions
- Monthly: € 39. Valid from the first to the last day of the month
- Annual: € 330. Valid for 12 consecutive calendar months. Can also be purchased in instalments with the Telepass agreement (more information on this page)

- For students and workers up to the age of 27
- Monthly: € 22.00. Valid from the first to the last day of the month

- Monthly: € 11.00. Valid from the first to the last day of the month
- For all evening students, without age limits
- Valid from Monday to Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm and from 9 pm to the end of service, Saturday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Not valid on Sundays

- For all travellers aged 65 and older
- Monthly: € 32.50. Valid from the first to the last day of the month

- For persons over 65 years of age and pensioners over 60 years of age
- Annual: € 300.00. Valid for 12 consecutive calendar months
- Monthly Off peak: €16.00. Valid from the first to the last day of the month
- Annual Off Peak: € 170.00. Valid for 12 consecutive calendar months
- Off-peak subscriptions are valid after 9:30 am on the metro and Trenord lines on weekdays from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and public holidays, you can travel at any time. On surface lines, they are valid every day and at all hours
- You can request it both at CAF and ATM Points. Bring with you a document proving residence. Alternatively, you can fill out the self-certification form found at the counter
::: Urban Senior subscription, residents in the Metropolitan City
For residents in the Municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Milan
- Monthly: € 30.00. For travellers over 65 years of age or pensioners over 60 years of age.
- Reduced monthly: € 22.00. For those over 65 years of age with an ISEE certification between € 16,000 and € 28,000.
- Reduced annual: € 200. For those over 65 years of age with an ISEE between € 16,000 and € 28,000.
- Free annual Senior. For those over 65 years of age with an ISEE below € 16,000.

::: Urban subscription for fostered minors
- Aimed at under 15 persons in foster care with families or in educational communities.
- Monthly: € 19.00. Valid from the first to the last day of the month
- It must be requested by a guardian or the head of the educational community
- Available only and exclusively at the ATM Point in Duomo
- Bring with you the documentation related to the foster letter issued by the Municipality of Milan and a copy of all the documentation
::: Urban subscription for families with three or more dependent children
- Annual € 165.00. Valid for 12 consecutive calendar months
- Both parents can have it, even in cases of judicial or administrative custody
- Available only at ATM Points
- You must present a copy of a valid identity card and a copy of the family status certificate. Alternatively, you can fill out the self-certification form found at the counter
::: Urban subscription for unemployed people
- Annual: € 50.00. Valid for 12 consecutive calendar months
- Reserved for people who have been unemployed for at least two years
- Available only at the ATM Point in Duomo
- The requirements to get the subscription and the documents to provide:
- declaration of immediate availability for work (DID) that shows at least 24 months of inactivity or availability (Legislative Decree 150/2015)
- valid employment statuses
- ISEE certification of the family unit not exceeding € 16,954.95
- certificate of residence in the Municipality of Milan
- a valid residence permit or authorization to stay on Italian territory, if you are a citizen of a non-European Union country
Weekly subscription, for travelling in Milan and surrounding areas
- It costs € 18.50 and is valid from Monday to Sunday of the same week
- Valid not only in the Municipality of Milan but also in the neighbouring Municipalities located in the Mi1-Mi3 tariff zone

Extra-urban subscriptions, for travelling outside Milan
The subscription fare depends on the zones you cross.
Finding the fare
Types of extra-urban subscriptions
- weekly: valid from Monday to Sunday of the same week
- monthly: valid from the first to the last day of the month
- annual: valid for 12 consecutive calendar months
- reduced annual: discounted by 85%. Available to those who are members of family units with an ISEE equal to or less than € 6.000. Only available at Tax Assistance Centres (CAF)
- youth up to the age of 26: 25% discount on the monthly or annual subscription
- Senior: from 65 years, 25% discount on the monthly or annual subscription
On which lines are the subscriptions valid
Within the zone and duration indicated on the ticket, tickets are valid:
- On all ATM lines, both metro and surface
- On Trenord railway lines, including the S lines
- on all extra-urban public transport operating in the territory of the Integrated Tariff System (including NET lines in Monza)
- on certain specific lines connecting municipalities within the Integrated Tariff System and to those outside
Up to 14 years old, no subscription is needed
Girls and boys under 14 years old travel for free on public transport in all municipalities where the integrated fare system (STIBM) applies. Simply validate the under 14 card or show the staff the under 11 card along with an identity document or just an identity document. On Trenord trains (on routes within the STIBM integrated tariff system territory), under 14 passengers can travel with just an identity document if accompanied by paying adults. They must have an Under 14 card if travelling alone.
