New M4 line, San Cristoforo-Linate

From San Cristoforo to Linate Airport, in half an hour

With 21 stops and 15 Kilometers, M4 takes you from the centre to the airport in 12 minutes.

M4 connects the city – new metro map

The blue line meets the metro and railway network in 6 stations:

San Cristoforo: S9 line and regional trains
Sant’Ambrogio: green line (metro M2)
Sforza Policlinico: yellow line (metro M3-Missori station)
San Babila: red line (metro M1)
Dateo and stazione Forlanini: S lines

M4 stations are fully connected to bus and tram stops, and with the bike sharing system Bikemi.

All M4 stations are equipped with lifts and escalators. Please note: during road works, follow these accessible paths to change line:

To change between M4 and M2 at S. Ambrogio station: accessible path
To change between M4 and M3 at Sforza-Policlinico station: accessible path

M4 timetables

M4 service is operated every day, from the early morning to midnight and a half. Check the timetables on ATM mobile app (Lines > M4).

NM4 night service

M4 trains are replaced by NM4 buses every night between Linate, San Cristoforo and Molinetto di Lorenteggio (last stop).

Pay contactless as you go

Contactless payment is valid on the entire metro network (including M4) and on board trams and buses. Touch your card on the reader at the start of your journey and touch out at the end (learn more). Please note: contactless payment is not valid on Trenord services (S lines and regional trains).

Touch out to transfer with the same ticket

To change line at San Babila, S. Ambrogio and Sforza-Policlinico, you have to touch out and pass through the turnstiles of one line. Then touch in and pass through the turnstiles of the other one. The same ticket, credit card or device are accepted.

From Linate to FieraMilano exhibition centres

To reach Rho Fiera:
- M4 to San Babila + M1 to a Rho Fiera
- M4 to Dateo + S lines to Rho Fiera railway station
To reach MiCo / Milanocity:
- M4 to San Babila + M1 to Lotto
- M4 to San Babila + M1 to Lotto + M5 to Portello
