Travel Card 

Public transport passes are loaded onto the travel card

  • The card has an administrative cost of € 10 and is valid for 4 years
  • The card profile is linked to age: Ordinary, Under 26, Under 27, Senior, Under 14, and Under 11
  • The card is personal, like the subscription, and cannot be transferred

How to request online a new card

  1. Register and log in to areariservata.atm.it, our digital services website
  2. Select the New card option and enter the tax code and the data requested
  3. Choose how to receive the card (the fastest way is to pick it up at the self-service printers)
  4. Pay with a credit card, PayPal, or Satispay

At the end of the request, you will be emailed with the next steps to receive the card. From your reserved area, you can check the status of the request.

Collect the card at the self-service printers

It's the fastest solution. When you make an online request, choose to collect the card from one of the self-service printers located in metro stations. Simply enter the data you received by email and you will immediately get a valid card for travelling.

Do you want to receive the card at home?

Choose the relevant option when making the online request. We deliver the card within 10 days to an address in Milan, Monza and provinces. Shipment costs € 5. Remember to make the request by the 20th of the month if you want to already load a travel pass on the card for the following one.

Other ways to get an ATM card

· At one of our ATM Points. You must book an appointment using our app. We will give you the card right away

· At authorised retailers. You can pick it up after 15-20 days: show the receipt that the retailer gave you when you applied

· In both cases, you must fill in the form and attach the tax code, a passport photo, and an identity document

Did you lose your card, is it no longer working or was it stolen?

You can request a duplicate at an ATM Point. Booking is required through our app. Bring a valid identity document and this self-certification filled out and printed.
The duplicate is free of charge if the damage is due to a defect in the card. Or if it is due to a malfunction of the automatic ticket or validation machine or of the turnstiles. The duplicate is also free when the card is damaged after being retained by an automatic ticket machine. In all other cases, the duplicate of the card costs € 15. That of an Under 14 card costs € 10. If you have an Under 11 card, you can print the duplicate from any printer.

Is the card about to expire or has it expired? Until 31 March 2025, its renewal is free for 12 months. - How to do it

If, on the other hand, you prefer a new card that is valid for another 4 years, you can apply for it from 2 months up to 10 days before the expiry. And if it contains a still valid pass, we will transfer it to the new card. The renewal cost is € 10.

  • If the card has not yet expired, you can renew it online starting from two months before the expiry. Go to areariservata.atm.it and select Reprint an expiring card. You will receive it at home in 10 days with a shipping cost of € 5. Cards are delivered to an address in Milan, Monza and provinces, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • If the card has already expired, you must request the renewal at one of our ATM Points (you must book an appointment through the app)

Under 14 and Under 11 cards: applications can only be made online

Girls and boys under 14 travel for free. Just show a valid identity document. They can also use the Under 11 or Under 14 card. Cards can be requested by a parent or guardian at areariservata.atm.it. Both are free. Information on how they work in this guide.

  • The Under 14 card is delivered to your home free of charge
  • The Under 11 card can be printed from any printer

On Trenord (within the STIBM integrated fare system territory), minors under 14 can travel with just an identity document if accompanied by paying adults. They must have an Under 14 card if travelling alone.

Conditions for home delivery of travel cards

  • After the first delivery attempt, the courier will try again in the following two working days
  • Should the second attempt also fail, we will contact you by phone or email
  • If the card is not delivered to your home within the expected time frame, you can call our Info Line 02 48 607 607 or the courier at 02 - 66980059 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
  • If the first delivery is unsuccessful, the courier will leave a receipt at the indicated address, with the telephone number to call to arrange the times for a second delivery.
  • Under 14 cards are delivered within 30 days. If you do not receive the card within this period, you can pick it up at our ATM Point at Duomo.
